Launch List: The Best New Beauty Products Launching in July featured image

Hundreds of products come across our editors’ desks every month, but not all of them deliver on their claims or live up to the hype. (Not everything that goes viral on TikTok is a miracle worker.) This is our exclusive curation of the best-in-class beauty products receiving rave reviews from our team and hitting shelves right now. From a cellulite-busting microcurrent device to tarte’s biggest launch of the year, we’ve got the scoop on all the newness.

Clinique Smart Clinical Repair Overnight Recovery Cream + Mask ($80)

As beauty enthusiasts, we know the power of a good nighttime skin-care regimen. While we sleep, our skin enters its natural repair mode, and a high-performance product like this one can send that repair process into overdrive. This moisturizing night cream is fueled by a blend of adenosine, collagen-boosting peptides, glucosamine and hyaluronic acid to increase hydration and radiance while reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Use it on your face and neck every night, and if you’d prefer to use it as a mask, you can also apply it in a thick layer as a leave-on mask. It’s recommended for all skin types, even sensitive. One of its many benefits is that it also helps to minimize skin’s sensitivity overnight.

Living Proof Style Lab Air-Dry Styler ($34)

This time of year, I love to let my hair air-dry. It’s easy, breezy styling. But, I need a good air-dry product in order for my hair to dry the right way. Without that, I get this weird wave pattern that isn’t pretty, and a lot of unwanted frizz.

This lightweight cream gets top marks for its ability to tame and soften without leaving behind residue or added weight. This is thanks to its unique mix of ingredients: bentonite clay adds texture, but not crunch; an algae-based polymer for a little bit of hold; and the brand’s propriety smoothing technology to keep frizz at bay. Apply it on towel-dried (not sopping wet) hair and brush or scrunch through.

Embryolisse Blush de Peau Radiant Complexion Cream ($32)

Our latest obsession from French skin-care secret Embryolisse is this skin enhancer that comes in two shades: Apricot Glow and Rose Glow. Celebrity makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis (she works with Jenna Ortega and many other A-listers) filled me in on a Zoom meeting recently. “I was introduced to this brand about 20 years ago backstage, and it was a makeup artist’s secret. It’s never left my kit since.” She’s been using these two creams for a while now and describes them as “a beauty tint with a gel-cream texture that gives you this healthy glow.”
They’re great for a no-makeup makeup look, and Inglessis is confident they can be used on every single skin tone because they’re so sheer. “The apricot is slightly more pearlized to reflect the light more, and the pink one is a pick-me-up when your skin feels a little tired. It’s great under your eyes or mixed with your concealer. You can also mix them with your SPF or foundation to boost your glow.”

FOREO BEAR 2 body ($299)

Topical lotions and potions can only do so much for cellulite. FOREO’s latest device employs microcurrent technology to tone and firm skin on the thighs, butt and arms. You can also use it on your abs for additional sculpting action. And, it stimulates microcirculation, so skin looks more alive and glowy.

“Consumers are sick of brands selling cellulite creams that don’t work,” says Evan Feldstein, the brand’s general manager, United States and Canada. “FOREO has made things that were until recently unseen in microcurrent history. With unique patented technology T-Sonic massage, two different types of microcurrent and Anti-shock 2.0 system, our microcurrent device is the world’s most powerful, yet safest at-home toning device available on the market. With healthy lifestyle combined with BEAR 2 body that is clinically proven to significantly improve skin firmness, elasticity and wrinkles in one week, people have a firm chance to eliminate cellulite and tackle loose skin, for the first time really.”

PCA SKIN Hyaluronic Acid Microneedle Eye Patches ($100)

Most under-eye patches solely target puffiness, but these new ones from derm-favorite PCA SKIN go a step further to also brighten dark circles and minimize fine lines. Each pair of under-eye patches uses 1,254 self-dissolving microneedles to deliver hyaluronic acid and other potent ingredients into the skin without causing any damage. If you’ve used a microneedle patch before, you don’t really feel them at all, and they certainly don’t hurt.

These patches are meant to be used at night once or twice a week and left on overnight, or for at least two hours. This makes them ideal for back sleepers. You can also just wear them for a couple hours in the evening as you wind down for bed. In a case study, 100 percent of subjects using the patches “perceived an improvement in dark circles caused by age-related volume loss and thin skin.” According to the brand, the patches “deliver a 22-percent reduction in wrinkles in just one treatment.”

Paul Mitchell Neuro Dry+ Folding High-Velocity Hair Dryer ($250)

Not your average blowdryer, this new one is lightweight (less than a pound), luxurious and high-performance. Plus, it folds up! As you can see in the picture here, it folds into a compact shape for easier traveling and comes with a bag for storage. Its NeutraHeat technology combines high-velocity (and quieter) airflow with the brand’s SmartSense+ microchip, which regulates air temperature 1,000 times per second. This allows the tool to deliver even heat and minimize damage.

Another feature we love is the AutoPause function, which means the blowdryer will automatically pause its airflow when you release the handle, or put it down. And, according to the brand, the dryer is built to last more than 1,000 hours.

Nécessaire The Body Vitamin C ($55)

Who says vitamin C is just for the face? In time for bathing suit season, we now have a luxurious formula for the body as well. The lightweight, gel-cream texture feels nice and refreshing as you massage it in, and the formula packs a punch with two big brightening ingredients. First, we get vitamin C. The brand chose to use a 2.5-percent concentration of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (aka THD ascorbate). This is a vitamin C derivative that’s more stable than L-ascorbic acid and less likely to irritate the skin. Next, we get tranexamic acid, which works in tandem with the THD to boost overall radiance and diminish dark spots.

Apply it daily, or as needed, to your body from the neck down. I like to apply it right when I get out of the shower on clean skin. Also, just like vitamin C helps boost the effectiveness of sunscreen you apply on your face, the same is true for your body. Always follow with SPF if you’re exposing your skin to the sun.

CHANEL Le Masque Camellia Exfoliating Mask ($75)

The ultimate self-care Sunday ritual, this mask-to-scrub provides a sensorial experience that makes a basic skin-care routine more enjoyable. Infused with 96-percent naturally derived ingredients, the formula combines the detoxifying benefits of a clay mask with the exfoliating benefits of a physical scrub. However, it’s not harsh on the skin thanks to super-fine camellia seed shells and jojoba beads.

The brand says it’s good for all skin types, but oily and combination skin would especially benefit, as it sops up excess oil for a more mattified look and reduces the appearance of large pores. However, there are other benefits too: In clinical testing (an instrumental evaluation of 16 women by corneometry 30 minutes after use), skin hydration was increased by 21 percent. Overall, skin feels softer and smoother, and looks that way as well.

tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer ($30)

The brand’s biggest launch of the year, this full-coverage concealer gives your eyes a new lease on life by hiding dark circles with ease. The formula was in development for 18 months, during which most of the time was dedicated to fine-tuning the shade range for inclusivity. There are 34 shades, and the brand has also added a new undertone for a total of six (most foundation and concealer shade ranges use three).

The formula is super creamy and skin-friendly thanks to the addition of sustainably sourced maracuja oil (tarte’s signature ingredient) and antioxidant-rich cloudberry. Diamond powder helps the concealer blur fine lines and other imperfections around the eyes, but it won’t settle into them or look cakey. It also actually helps treat fine lines with bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative. In a clinical study, the concealer provided 24-hour hydration, waterproof, 12-hour wear and didn’t crease.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Overnight Treatment ($98)

This nighttime treatment mask is grounded in more than 40 years of pioneering night skin science research. It was developed based on breakthrough research regarding skin synchronization and energy, or ATP. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is a big ingredient trend we’ve been seeing. This formula works to restore skin’s visible energy, as well as its moisture and barrier every night while we sleep.

“Featuring an exclusive Night Peptide and new ATPower Technology, this is the first product in the Advanced Night Repair franchise that helps provide skin with the energy it needs to maximize skin’s overnight repair process,” says Dr. Nadine Pernodet, Estée Lauder’s senior vice president leading the company’s Global Bioscience Group. “It also helps create the optimal moisture environment essential for skin renewal. This results in 58 percent moisture recovery, a 40 percent increase in barrier strength, and a 28 percent increase in visible energy and radiance. Melting into skin with a silky, breathable second-skin texture, it should be used as the final step in a nighttime skin-care routine.”

Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Portofino97 Golden Shimmer Body Oil ($95)

I know I’m not the only one who’s been swooning over all the throwback pictures of David and Victoria Beckham on Instagram lately (#relationshipgoals). This new body oil (limited-edition for the summer) conjures a happy memory for Victoria: “When David and I first met, we kept our relationship under wraps,” says founder Victoria Beckham. “In 1997, we decided to take a trip to Portofino. I remember the light, I remember how the hotel smelled and how exciting that time was. I remember it all like it was yesterday.”

A mix of gold and bronze pearls, the oil is meant to “mimic the effect of golden hour on the skin.” It’s that sun-kissed effect with a hint of sparkle that catches someone’s eye all the way down the beach. Plus, it’s infused with the scent of the brand’s Portofino ‘97 Eau de Parfum, which we love.

Garnier Erase It All Makeup Cleansing Balm with Hyaluronic Acid ($15)

The brand’s first cleansing balm (it also launched a vitamin C option), this new formula is going to become a fast favorite for those looking for a fragrance-free option that won’t break the bank. Infused with shea butter and jojoba oil, it improves the skin barrier as it removes makeup and sunscreen (and any other grime your skin picked up throughout the day).

According to the brand, the cleansing balm “leaves skin hydrated for 24 hours and improves the skin barrier in just one hour.” It’s also good for all skin types, as well as dermatologist- and ophthalmologist-tested for safety. Both formulas are now exclusively on Amazon, but you’ll find them in all other retailers where Garnier is sold in the next couple months.

Oral-B iO Series 2 Electric Toothbrush ($65)

Dentists love to recommend Oral-B’s famous round toothbrush, but the price point hasn’t always been accessible for many people — until now. This new Series 2 electric toothbrush provides three cleaning settings, a two-minute timer and a rechargeable base, at a lower price of $65.

“This new toothbrush is designed to delight the current manual toothbrush user and help make the switch to electric as easy as possible,” says Kelly Heaps, vice president of Oral-B North America. “The iO Series 2 features a dentist-inspired round brush head that cleans 100-percent better than a regular manual toothbrush, delivering Oral-B’s superior iO technology at a more accessible price point. Equipped with an all-in-one power button and an automatic gum pressure sensor, the iO Series 2 cleans better with one simple touch.”

Irene Forte Pistachio Body Oil ($180)

We first fell in love with Irene’s Pistachio Face Oil, which, like this ultra-luxe, nighttime Body Oil, is great for dry and mature skin, and also includes the brand’s key ingredient phytomelatonin. This is a patented, antioxidant-rich extract of alpine plant melatonin that, according to the brand, “has been shown to more than triple the vitality of skin cells in the laboratory. It has also been shown to promote cellular changes that occur in the course of skin regeneration.”

“The oil has achieved incredible consumer trial results,” says founder Irene Forte. “92 percent of trialists described it as their new favorite body oil. Containing our breakthrough proprietary ingredient, phytomelatonin, this body oil is designed to reboot and restore overnight. In keeping with our spa heritage, we have also developed a signature massage routine for this oil, accessible via the QR code on its box, allowing customers to bring the spa experience home.”

Hourglass Cosmetics Unreal Liquid Blush ($36)

Available in seven gorgeous shades, this serum-like, liquid blush is a must-try for those with dry skin who steer clear of powder blush for fear of a patchy result. This formula instantly hydrates skin with hyaluronic acid and upcycled white lupin seed extract, which also give the cheeks a temporary smoothing and plumping effect.

The packaging is unique in that you squeeze the base to dispense only as much as you need to get the look you want, whether that’s soft and subtle or more vibrant. “I wanted to create a liquid blush formula that provides buildable, natural-looking color that lasts all day,” says founder Carisa Janes. “We intentionally developed this formula alongside our No. 15 Blush Brush to have effortless bendability for a seamless flush of color.”

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips ($8)

With decades of knowledge (the brand was founded in 1946), Sally Hansen knows nails, and its come a long way since Hard-As-Nails (though you can still buy this cult-classic nail hardener today). These new flexible nail strips make it so easy to get salon-quality nail art in minutes at home, and come in 20 fun shades and designs. Knowing Sally Hansen, I’m sure the brand will be adding more, too, including limited-edition collections. The strips fit over your nails (or nail extensions) and they stay super shiny without any UV light curing, or damage to your nails.

“With the success of our Salon Effects Perfect Manicure Press-On Nails and Nail Accent launches over the past year, we know our customers are on the hunt for simple ways to create eye catching nail art at home,” says Stefano Curti, chief brands officer of Coty Consumer Beauty. “Gone are the days of sitting in the salon for hours, only to leave with a design that doesn’t quite look like the picture you found on Instagram!”

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 50 ($20)

For those of you who love a multitasking skin-care product and don’t want too much fuss in your morning routine, this is the new launch to try. It’s a sunscreen and moisturizer in one and applies like a dream, blending seamlessly into the skin.

“This formula uses a hybrid of both mineral and chemical sunscreen. This allows it to have that really beautiful finish with zero white cast,” says Margate, FL dermatologist Ramya Garlapati, MD. “A lot of times individuals with darker skin tones think they don’t have to use a sunscreen, and that’s just simply not true. Everyone is susceptible to UV damage. This product can be used by everyone—all skin tones. It’s also formulated for sensitive skin and fragrance-free, so dry, sensitive skin types can use it as well.”

SkinCeuticals P-TIOX ($148)

We were not surprised to learn that SkinCeuticals had a powerful, peptide-packed serum in the works, and we’re so excited to see it finally hit the market. Inspired by neurotoxin injections, which temporarily freeze the muscles that lead to expression lines, it provides an at-home line-smoothing option. Pair it with your regular injections (use it in between appointments to maintain your results) or use it alone.

“As pioneers in integrated skin care, our goal was to deliver an innovation that pairs perfectly with the leading in-office treatment, neurotoxin injectables,” says Angela Hildebrand, general manager of SkinCeuticals U.S. “Our physician partners are thrilled. It’s great for their injectable patients and also for those who are looking for similar anti-aging benefits, but not ready for an injection treatment.”

“As we age, dynamic facial expressions cause contraction lines to become etched into our skin,” says Wilmington, NC dermatologist Rosalyn George, MD. “P-TIOX is clinically proven to reduce the look of nine types of contraction lines, even in areas of the face that neurotoxin injections are not traditionally used to treat. Moreover, it improves skin texture and radiance in just one week of use to achieve an overall smooth, glass-like complexion, whether you’re getting neurotoxin injections or not.”

Vegamour GRO+ Advanced Hair Serum ($78)

If you were a fan of the brand’s OG GRO+ serum, ideal for those with severe shedding, there’s a new upgraded version in town. (And that one will be phased out.) This is a totally new serum that was co-formulated with dermatologists and utilizes a new proprietary blend of actives, including antioxidant-rich rhapontic rhubarb root and Japanese beautyberry extract. Referred to as the GRO+ Active Complex, this blend was identified using AI techniques. Another difference between this serum and the previous version is that there is no longer CBD in the formula.

“The bottle should last you 30 days, and you should use one full dropper every day,” says Jackson, WY dermatologist Afton Cobb, MD. “Make sure to apply the serum throughout your scalp [on wet or dry hair] and then gently massage it in. I like that it doesn’t leave any residue and it doesn’t feel oily. This is nice because it’s a leave-on treatment—you’re not meant to wash it out.”
