Ex-NFL star Michael Strahan is known for many things. Among them: his legendary hustle for the New York Giants and the gap in his bright smile. While he’ll forever be pinned as one of the best football players of all time, the gap is no more.
According to Strahan’s most recent Twitter video, the player-turned-TV-host turned to New York cosmetic dentist Lee Gause, DDS for a new smile. Noting that he’d be met with opposition if he told loved ones he was removing the gap, Strahan tells Dr. Gause in confidence, “You’re the only one who knows and you’re the best at this.”
Later in the video, Strahan’s dental procedure is completed, a treatment TMZ claims was a “removable dental piece that gives the look of a filled-in tooth line,” and walks out of the office with nothing but a big smile.
The comments section of Strahan’s tweet shows that with or without the gap, his fan base is still by his side. One person wrote, “You did it for you…and that is #1! It looks great but you rocked the gap.” Another fan said, “It’s AMAZING how much it lifted your confidence cause I’ve never seen u smile so HARD!”
As much as we loved his gap, it’s safe to say that Strahan has never smiled bigger.

As it turns out, Strahan’s smile makeover was not actually permanent—he planned out the entire video for an April Fools’ prank! Whether he’s rocking a gap or not, the athlete will always have the best sense of humor.
