Videos of Duxbury slathering on makeup with impeccable results are all over the app. With over 16.7 million followers on TikTok, we can confidently say this makeup artist is one of the most notable beauty influencers. Duxbury recently launched a faux lash collaboration with KISS, and she’s really excited about it. We talked to Duxbury about how to pick out faux lashes, her New Year’s resolutions and more.
What made you want to collaborate with KISS on faux lashes?
“I have been wearing lashes for as long as I can remember. My look is never finished until I have a faux lash on. KISS has been my go-to lash for many years now. I absolutely love the quality and feel. They are so comfortable on the eye. When KISS came to me with the idea of collaborating on a disco, groovy-themed partnership, I knew it would be the start of something amazing. Everything I’ve created with KISS has been a dream come true, and I cannot wait to continue to work together.”
What’s important to look for in faux flashes?
“In regards to look, I always think it is important to find a style that makes you feel confident. In regards to feel, I always look for a crisp, flexible band, so the lash is comfortable for all-day wear.”
I loved your candid video talking about life and being hard on yourself and your body. In that spirit, do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
“In 2023, I am looking forward to focusing on enjoying the present moment. It is so easy to get caught up in a busy schedule, but I want to really enjoy each hour of the day. I also want to continue to recognize and be proud of all I have accomplished in my career so far.”
What’s the one beauty product that if you run out of it, you immediately need to get another one?
“Lashes.”
How do you cleanse your face to ensure all the gorgeous layers of makeup are off at the end of the day?
“First, I go in with a melting balm to begin the makeup removal process. After using a melting balm, I use a cleanser. The combination of using a melting balm and cleanser really melts every inch of makeup off your skin. To finish off my skin-care routine, I use a serum and a hydrating moisturizer.”
Do you have any tips and tricks for applying faux lashes?
“My number one tip is to let the lash glue dry down for about 30 seconds before applying so that it’s super tacky. It makes for an easier application.”
What is your favorite look to create with these lashes?
“I love to create a shimmery full glam look with my lashes using a gold eye shadow and topping off with one of my lashes to make the eyes really pop.”
