Sparkly, shimmery and ridiculously radiant, Lupita Nyong’o was so glowing at tonight’s Oscars that we need a new word to describe it.
According to celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose, a little bit of the secret was one off-the-radar, Canadian-made botanical balm that you’ve probably never heard of.
“To celebrate a decade return at the Oscars this year, It’s fitting to have extra Sparkles, Sparking Eyes, Sparkling Skin, Sparkly Everywhere!” Barose shared on Instagram.
For skin, Barose listed a full Chanel lineup in the beauty notes, including Sublimage La Créme Texture Universelle ($455), Sublimage La Créme Yeux Ultimate Cream ($290), Les Beiges Healthy Glow Primer ($54) in Light Copper, Ultra Le Teint Ultrawear All Day Comfort Flawless Finish Foundation ($65) in BR132, Les Beiges Healthy Glow Blush ($72) in Mauve Glacé, and Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid ($54) in Sunkissed on top of cheekbones and body.
For “extra glow” on Lupita’s body, Barose mixed Skwálwen Botanicals Wild Rose and Yarrow Salve Balm ($26) with the Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid for “all over glow.” Then, he “dusted a bit of glitter on high points for extra drama.”
The botanical balm is described as a multipurpose salve that soothes distressed skin and nourishes dryness…an elegant blend of three beneficial oils that promotes rapid skin restoration.”
