You can currently see her alongside Katie Holmes in the off-Broadway show The Wanderers and she’s starring opposite Owen Wilson in the new IFC film Paint (out today). As busy as Australian-born Lucy Freyer is, she still has time to talk all things makeup, skin care and springtime.
What beauty products are you currently using on your projects?
While I’ve been doing The Wanderers at Roundabout, I’ve been using the MAC Waterweight foundation ($31) as my base, and I’ve absolutely loved it. As the name implies, it’s very lightweight so I never feel like I’m caking my face in makeup. I’ve also fallen in love with the MAC lipstick ($25) in the shade Burning Love and I think it’s one I’ll sneak away with after the show closes.
You grew up in Australia—any beauty products you still use from your home country?
Lucas’ Papaw ointment ($14) is one I’ve used as long as I can remember. It’s by far and away my favorite lip product, especially this time of year. I always stock up when I go home. I also love anything Mecca Cosmetica makes, but especially their SPF.
Any self-care treatments you recently found out about that you love?
I’ve never been a sheet mask gal, but recently I’ve jumped on the bandwagon. I’ve been telling myself that it’s in an attempt to keep my skin hydrated while it’s been so cold outside—but I think that they’re just fun. Mecca Cosmetica also has a hydrating hydrogel sheet mask that’s become a favorite of mine.
What are you excited about this spring?
I love New York in the spring—it feels like the end of a Nora Ephron movie. I’m excited to spend time in Riverside and Central Park. During the summer of 2020, my friends and I started having regular picnics and it’s something we’ve kept up in the warmer months. I can’t wait for it to be picnic weather again.
