Luann de Lesseps’ most recent bikini post on July 15 sent her one million Instagram followers into a frenzy, with fans flooding the comments section to praise her physique: “Her body is phenomenal,” one fan gushed, while another wrote, “You look FANTASTIC.” Teasing her fans with a peek into her wellness routine, the Real Housewives of New York alum shared a look inside her fitness regimen, her dietary preferences, and the invaluable advice she gleaned from a nutritionist in a newly published interview with the Daily Mail.

The “Money Can’t Buy You Class” singer revealed that she “works hard” to keep her body “in check.” She told the outlet that she exercises “all the time,” multiple times per day. She said she goes for walks, hits the gym, and, with a playful laugh, mentioned that she has lots of sex (“Just kidding, not kidding,” she quipped). When it comes to food, Lesseps sticks to the Mediterranean diet, which focuses on plant-based foods, healthy fats, and fish and poultry. She has also embraced intermittent fasting, makes yoga a regular part of her schedule, and abstains from alcohol.

A tip she shared with the outlet? Lesseps mentioned she recently had a conversation with a nutritionist who offered this advice: “I was told that a trick is to chew your food because digestion starts in your mouth.” This advice resonates with something celebrity nutritionist Paula Simpson told NewBeauty a few years back: “Chew your food thoroughly and be mindful of your meal,” she said, emphasizing that mindful eating and a slower pace can prevent overindulgence and help with digestion. “Putting your utensils down between bites and counting 10–15 chews before swallowing not only helps prevent over eating, but also eases the digestion process (so you are less likely to be bloated after the meal),” she said.

And that’s not all Lesseps took from her chat with the nutritionist. “Also you should not drink 30 minutes before you eat or 30 minutes after you eat because it messes with everything in your gut,” she said, adding that “it washes out what is there to digest your food.” (NewBeauty has contacted a nutritionist to verify this claim, and we’ll update you once we have their input.)
