In a statement shared by the company over the weekend, Paris-based cosmetics giant L’Oreal has announced it will remove the words “white/whitening, fair/fairness, light/lightening from all its skin-evening products,” according to CNN.

The move follows in the footsteps of brands like Johnson & Johnson, which announced they would be discontinuing two brands that include the word “fairness” on the label, and Unilever, which announced it would “stop using the word ‘Fair” on its Fair and Lovely line of products sold in India, last week.
