In a recent Instagram post, former Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn shared side-by-side photos of her full-face glam and her all-natural glow, proving that makeup is only surface level and that real beauty is skin deep.
“Same person, same day… all that changed was makeup,” the 36-year-old writes in her post. “I love getting glammed up when I have photoshoots and events, but underneath I’m still the same person with the same feelings and things I’m going through.”
“In the world of IG filters and makeup hacks, I always remind myself that true beauty is the character your bring to every room,” she adds. “Everything else washes off!”
Vonn’s message about self-love was widely appreciated by her fans. One person commented “You are equally as beautiful in both photos,” and someone else wrote “Natural beauty in every sense. Good for you for trusting and following your instincts.”
While yesterday’s post really portrayed her confidence, Vonn has been known to radiate self-love and realness through social media in the past. Back in February, the skier posted a glowing selfie with caption, “Today I am focused on loving my family, my friends and most importantly myself. Being happy and enjoying life… not just today, but every day. I hope that all you find happiness and love too!” If this isn’t motivation to love ourselves a little extra today, we don’t know what is.
