Launch List: The Best Body Care Launching in August featured image

Hundreds of products come across our desks every month, but not all of them deliver on their claims or live up to the hype. (Not everything that goes viral on TikTok is a miracle worker.) This is our exclusive curation of the best-in-class body-care products receiving rave reviews from our team and hitting shelves right now.

1 / 10

Vacation Classic Whip SPF 30 Sunscreen Mousse ($22)

Sunscreen that looks and feels like whipped cream? Yes please! The brand calls it “dessert for your skin,” and I agree. It makes sunscreen application so fun, and whipping (pun intended) the can out at the pool or beach is an instant conversation-starter. It doesn’t smell like whipped cream though; it boasts Vacation’s signature, nostalic, beachy scent that became a fast cult-favorite when the brand launched last year.

Good-for-your-skin ingredients like coconut oil, shea oil, aloe vera, vitamin E and banana extract give it moisturizing and antioxidant properties, so it doesn’t leave skin feeling dry upon application, even though it sinks in fast. It also works on all skin tones and doesn’t leave a white cast because it’s made with chemical sunscreen filters—homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene and avobenzone—rather than physical ones.

TOCCA Olio Sublime Profumatos Dry Body Oil ($54 each)

One of my favorite fragrances ever, Tocca Stella, now comes in a gorgeous dry body oil (along with Florence, Cleopatra and Giulietta), and I’m not the only one to become a fast fan: According to the brand, the oils are already in the number-one and number-two best-sellers after just two weeks on the market.

Though I’m most excited about another way I can wear the scent (I’m also devoted to the Stella hair perfume), the oil itself is super nourishing and chock-full of argan, jojoba and vitamin E oils. A few other highlights: it’s vegan, makes my skin feel like silk, and when I layer it with the EDP or hair perfume, it’s not overpowering at all. I like to spray it on after the shower and my skin soaks it right up, leaving behind a really subtle sheen.

3 / 10

Tenoverten The Protective Suncream ($44)

I’ve loved every manicure I’ve ever had at Tenoverten salons in NYC, and since the brand launched in 2010, it’s expanded into a full line of topical products for nails, hands and feet, including this new mineral-based SPF 30 hand cream. If you spend a lot of time on the road, this is one product you’ll want to keep in your car and apply daily, as the sun can still do damage to your hands on the steering wheel through your windows.

And not only is it essential for sun protection, but hand cream, in general, is often overlooked, and it’s one of the keys to younger-looking hands because dry skin shows signs of aging more than moisturized skin. This one contains antioxidant-rich rosemary and sunflower extracts, as well as vitamin E, grapeseed oil and hyaluronic acid, and doesn’t feel greasy or heavy.

European Wax Center EWC TREAT Detoxifying Face & Body Mask ($22.50)

It’s not every day you see masks made for both the face and body, but this is one you can truly use from head to toe, even on your bikini area. Both gynecologist-tested and dermatologist-tested, the mask uses activated charcoal mixed with glycolic and salicylic acids and tea tree oil to pull gunk out of clogged pores, treat ingrown hairs and soothe bumps and breakouts.

Vitamin C lends a brightening effect as well, and as such, this is a great mask to use on your armpits, too, if you’re experiencing a breakout from shaving or using a new deodorant, or your underarms have a dark shadow. Apply it on clean skin and let it sit until it’s completely dry, then rinse it off (you might need a wash cloth and it might get a little messy). If you just had a wax, wait 24 hours before using.

5 / 10

BioEffect EGF Body Serum ($119)

If you loved BioEffect’s Body Intensive serum, which was discontinued, try this new serum instead, which comes in a larger bottle and features a higher concentration of the brand’s barley EGF for an even more potent treatment. It’s oil-free, fragrance-free, lightweight, nongreasy, sinks into skin quickly, and hydrates effectively (some body serums I’ve tried sit on the surface of my skin and do not do what they say they will).

The key ingredients (there are only eight total!) include pure, lava-filtered Icelandic water, hyaluronic acid, barley seed extract and glycerin, which make the ultimate elixir for dry, aging skin in need of daily revitalization. With each use (all skin types can benefit), crepey skin appears smoother and firmer and dry skin feels quenched.

6 / 10

Megababe Cream Deo ($14)

Founder Katie Sturino has become quite the deodorant guru—there’s even a deodorant quiz on the brand’s website to find the right formula to suit all your personal armpit preferences, and her cult-favorite Rosy Pits deo remains a best-seller. Now she’s launching a new deo, which is her first in a cream format and infused with 5-percent alphahydroxy acids (mandelic and lactic) to block B.O.—the minty-fresh scent helps too.

The addition of niacinamide, squalane and vitamin E help promote a more even skin tone (I’m in camp underarm discoloration and not a fan) and prevent ingrown hairs. It’s essentially a skin-care cream for your pits and we’re here for it.

7 / 10

JLo Body by JLo Beauty Firm + Flaunt Targeted Booty Balm ($65)

It comes as no surprise that the woman with one of the most iconic derriere’s of all time decided to launch her body product collection with a peptide-packed, firming booty balm. “It’s all the power and science behind JLo Beauty…now for the body,” says Jennifer Lopez. Personally, I lost myself for a few minutes watching the video of JLo applying the cream (click the product link above to see it yourself), but you can see she applies it to her arms as well, so I’d say it’s more of an allover firming cream.

Chock-full of super caffeinated guarana seed extract that revs up circulation and takes down puffiness, the hydrating cream is also clinically proven to reduce stretch marks (an ingredient called pink pepperslim aids in this department). In an eight-week study on 34 women ages 27 to 63, 71 percent of participants noticed an improvement in the appearance of their stretch marks after eight weeks.

8 / 10

Ulike Sapphire AIR+ Dark Green IPL Hair Removal Device ($359)

One of the best-selling hair removal devices in China is now finally available in the United States. The chic, handheld device is equipped with FDA-approved IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology that converts light energy to heat energy, which destroys the hair follicle at the root. However, where the zap of heat can typically be uncomfortable or painful, this device uses the brand’s patented sapphire ice-cooling technology, which reduces heat output and cools the skin to protect it from burns.

“Ulike is the first brand to make professional ice-cooling hair removal technology available for home use and we’re thrilled to be bringing our innovative technology to the U.S. market, offering customers a luxurious, pain-free and cost-effective hair removal experience,” says Mr. Pan, general manager of Ulike.

It is easy to use, there are five energy levels, and you can use it pretty much anywhere you have unwanted hair, including the face, armpits, bikini line, arms and legs, with results in four weeks—no salon appointments necessary.

9 / 10

Bliss Cloud 9 Body Lotion Almond Milk & Vanilla ($9)

Bliss knows body products—if you’ve never visited a Bliss spa, the body treatments are quite a treat—and this new lotion is a steal. It’s a lightweight formula yet its shea butter base is packed with vitamins B3, C and E so you get much more than a standard moisturizer. Three other things I like: It’s not sticky, dries quickly and it comes in three different scents Lemon & Sage, Pink Blossom & Waterlily and Almond Milk & Vanilla. There’s also an Unscented version if you love the smell of your signature perfume more, or just don’t care for fragrances at all (no judgment here!).

10 / 10

LAPCOS Milk Feel Body Exfoliating & Cleansing Pad ($38 for five)

If you’ve ever been scrubbed from head to toe in a Korean spa, you know how it works wonders for your skin and you leave feeling like a new person. This double-duty cleansing mitt is inspired by that bathing tradition and exfoliates, cleanses and moisturizes skin all over the body.

The mesh yellow side exfoliates with alphahydroxy and betahydroxy acids that also help even skin tone, and the soft white side contains anti-inflammatory tea tree extract, as well as milk protein extract, which is rich in amino acids that hydrate and condition the skin for a smoother, softer feel.
