Launch List: The Best Body Care Launching in June featured image

Hundreds of products come across our desks every month, but not all of them deliver on their claims or live up to the hype. (Not everything that goes viral on TikTok is a miracle worker.) This is our exclusive curation of the best-in-class body-care products receiving rave reviews from our team and hitting shelves right now.

1 / 10

Oribe Restorative Body Crème ($65)

If you love the smell of your Oribe shampoo and have dreamed about the day you can slather it all over your body, it’s finally here. Now you can get Oribe’s signature Côte d’Azur scent in a rich body cream, infused with five nourishing oils—sweet almond, olive, jojoba, meadowfoam and starflower—shea butter, hyaluronic acid and aloe leaf juice to keep skin hydrated and smooth all day.

It also comes in two other gender-neutral fragrances the brand launched last summer: Valley of Flowers (a woody floral) and Desertland (an aromatic green scent)—you really can’t go wrong with any of them, but I’m still partial to the OG.

2 / 10

REFY Body Glow ($40)

In response to the brand’s majorly successful Gloss Highlighter and subsequent demand for a body version, REFY created this formula, which features the same universal, golden pigment that give skin the sexiest glass-like sheen. The texture is super silky and hydrating and melts into skin without any oily or sticky residue.

It also doesn’t come off on clothes, though you probably won’t be wearing many when you use it. Dab a little bit on your collarbone, décolleté and/or shoulders, or go full-on full-body glow for a party on the beach.

3 / 10

mio Skincare Move Groove Anti-Friction Balm ($14)

Caused by a combination of moisture and irritating fabrics, friction can leave skin irritated any time of year, but it can be especially uncomfortable in the warm summer months (and a rash can be tougher to hide in a bikini or shorts). Keep this balm on hand to use anywhere you experience unwanted rubbing, like the thighs, butt, groin, armpits, or even your boobs (breastfeeding is its own type of friction!).

Its vegan mix of moisturizing coconut oil, soothing and redness-reducing niacinamide and smoothing tapioca provides instant protection and peace of mind. And it’s fragance-free, so it won’t interfere with your favorite scented body lotion. In an independent test on 50 users over the course of two weeks, 96-percent agreed their skin felt protected from rubbing and friction.

4 / 10

8Greens Effervescent Peach Tea Tablets ($14 for 10 tablets)

The newest flavor to join 8Greens’ Effervescent Tablet family, the Peach Tea taste is a delicious way to nourish your body from the inside out, and you’d have no idea you’re drinking a vitamin-rich medley of spinach, kale, aloe vera, wheatgrass, blue green algae, barley grass, chlorella and spirulina. It’s only 10 calories and so much more fun (and tasty) than taking a pill: Just drop the tablet in water, watch it fizz and then drink up!

Pro tip: The tablets don’t fit through the mouth of a traditional water bottle, but I just break them in half and then drop them in and it works all the same. (The brand also launched Powder Sticks this year, which avoid that problem altogether, though the flavors are different.)

5 / 10

Topicals Slather Exfoliating Body Serum ($30)

Whip dry, bumpy skin into shape for summertime with this lightweight, milky, vegan body serum that utilizes encapsulated all-trans-retinol, urea, lactic acid and glycolic acid to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells that build up and make skin look dull—it’s also a must-try for those with KP, aka “chicken skin.” The addition of squalane also gives it hydrating properties, so you’re not just resurfacing and leaving skin dry, but also replenishing.

Use it two times a week at night before bed to start and see how your skin reacts (retinol can be tricky, but the skin on the body is tougher than the skin on the face). And because it contains retinol, even if you’re using it at night, always use sunscreen during the day, as vitamin A can make skin more sensitive to UV exposure.

6 / 10

Dune Suncare THE BOD GUARD ($25)

Launching June 8, this vegan broad-spectrum SPF 30 for the body is truly invisible, as its clear gel-cream formula blends into every skin tone under the sun (pun intended). The reason for this is the brand’s “clean chemical” formula—no oxybenzone or octinoxate—that doesn’t leave a white cast on the skin like many mineral-based sunscreens do. I also love that it feels cooling when you’re out in the blasting heat, it smells like the ocean and it dries really quickly on my skin.

The brand also recently received approval for its 72-hour hydration claim, which is the biggest hydration claim for a sunscreen in the U.S. and many other countries. And, it offers 40-minute water-resistance if you’re planning to take a dip and don’t want to worry.

7 / 10

MAËLYS SO-COOL ($25)

I’ve deemed this limited-edition after-sun cooling body wash a beach vacation essential, as there’s nothing better than getting in a cool shower and rinsing off after a scorching-hot day in the sand, but if your body wash is also cooling—the brand added menthol to the formula—that’s a win-win.

The scent reminds me of a tropical vacation with notes of dewy melon, green apple and sweet orange, which is exactly what I’d expect a body wash in a bright green bottle to smell like. It’s also loaded with shea butter and doesn’t dry out my skin.

8 / 10

Vita Liberata Untinted Heavenly Tanning Elixir in Medium ($44)

The new colorless version of the brand’s best-seller (no need to worry about it ruining your sheets), this cocoa-scented gel-lotion takes self-tanning to the next level with the brand’s advanced encapsulated DHA technology that allows the DHA to continually release over three days, giving you a super natural-looking, medium-toned tan.

It’s also highly moisturizing with organic aloe vera, squalane and glycerin on the ingredient lineup, which helps prolong your tan—it can last up to 10 days depending on your shower and exercise habits (too much sweating and sudsing can ruin your faux glow). Apply it with a mitt and enjoy the way it melts into your skin—it seriously applies like a dream.

9 / 10

Paula’s Choice 5% Niacinamide Body Serum ($29)

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve recommended body serums to. For those whose skin is dry as a bone but they despise the feeling of sticky lotion or heavy a crème, a serum is the perfect way to keep your skin hydrated and even-toned, but with a quick-drying, weightless finish. This new one marries 5-percent niacinamide, 5-percent d-panthenol and prickly pear extract to help restore a healthy skin barrier, reduce patchy discoloration (yes, our arms and legs can look blotchy just like our face) and hydrate dry areas.

10 / 10

Mustela Family Size Mineral Sunscreen Lotion Face + Body SPF 50 ($38, launching soon)

Mustela has you and your little ones covered from head to toe with its new jumbo version—an 11-ounce pump bottle—of its best-selling mineral sunscreen lotion that launched last summer. There are so many things to love about this sheer formula, but here are a few: It’s 93-percent naturally derived, it’s received the seal of approval from both the Skin Cancer Foundation and the National Eczema Association, and it’s fragrance-free.

I also can’t forget to mention the 80-minute water-resistant factor, which is especially crucial for the kiddos who will most certainly lose track of time playing in the pool.
