In a recent video for mental-health site Verywell Mind, Grammy award–winning singer JoJo shared her self-care tips and how they’ve helped her manage her anxiety and depression.
“Self-care isn’t just about pampering,” she says in the video. “It can also be about introspection and slowing down.” The first form of self-care that JoJo mentions is journaling: “I’m a big fan of journaling. I’ve done it since I was a little girl. I have several journals, actually.” Holding up two different journals, the songwriter tells viewers how she uses one to compartmentalize her thoughts and the other to jot down her free-flowing thoughts and doodles.
Next, she talks about her Pure NanoSteamer ($40): “I like using portable steamers on the road for my voice. It’s always good to steam and get things nice and moisturized before you start singing.” But, they’re also good for the skin. “I started to do at-home facials during quarantine and when my skin is in good condition, I feel better.”
