Jenna Ortega is known for a lot: her iconic role as Wednesday Addams (and the viral dance that came with it), her goth-glam beauty aesthetic and those ‘70s-inspired curtain bangs that have become her signature. But based on her latest Instagram posts, the 22-year-old might be in the midst of a subtle hair evolution. These days, her bangs look softer and more blended into her longer layers, sparking speculation in the NewBeauty Slack channel that she’s growing them out. While there’s no official confirmation (yet!), one thing’s for sure: the effortless look suits her just as well, and it has us tempted to copy her look, like yesterday.
The shift was especially noticeable when Ortega stepped out for the New York premiere of Death of a Unicorn on Tuesday, March 11. (She stars as a lead in the upcoming film, playing the character Ridley.) Her hair was styled sleek, straight and glossy, courtesy of her longtime go-to hairstylist, Bobby Eliot. The pro shared behind-the-scenes clips of the look, captioning his post, “Sleek & chic! Beauty!!” We couldn’t agree more, nor could we stop wondering how her bangs grew so quickly.
This isn’t the only time Eliot’s styled her bangs out of her face in recent weeks. For the film’s South by Southwest premiere, he styled her hair parted to the side and swept back into a sleek, low updo, keeping her forehead mostly clear.
We’re obsessed with both looks and are curious to see which direction Ortega will take her bangs next.
