We all know The Biggest Loser trainer Jen Widerstrom has an incredible body (as seen in her frequent #fitspo photos), but the 34-year-old decided to bust some myths we all have when it comes to stomach rolls, mirror selfies and plain old self confidence.
Proving that everyone—even a celebrity fitness trainer—has bad angles, Widerstrom posed the below side-by-side photo on Instagram that surely stopped fans in their tracks. On the left, the photo is taken from below while sitting down to show her stomach somewhat bulging over her workout pants. On the right, however, Widerstrom is standing in the perfect fitness selfie stance—the position allows you to flex all of your muscles in a pose that makes every part of you looked toned—to show how misleading these all too common selfies can be. The photo is paired with a caption reading, “We all look like this when we sit,” she posted. “Don’t stress about the way your body looks in certain positions. These photos were taken two minutes apart!”

As for the inspiration behind the photo? A lot more genuine than you’d think. Widerstrom tells People that she was recently at a photoshoot feeling confident until she looked down at her stomach and quickly got insecure. “I started to get in my head and really down on myself for my body. Even glammed up and in amazing clothes, I experience these thoughts—it’s normal! As quickly as I started to spiral down, I redirected my thoughts and took a few quiet moments to get myself back to reality. I stood up to take a new picture. I put a stop to my unreasonable remarks by showing myself the truth and reminding myself what a healthy, full-bodied woman I am, and how that’s beautiful.”
