We learned many new things about Gigi Hadid from her recent interview with Vogue: She can go weeks without touching an item of makeup, she confided in an all-natural skin-care line, Oliveda, during her pregnancy, and when she doesn’t like her runway makeup, she fixes it in the bathroom pre-show.
“One person who will not go on the runway without touching her own face is Joan Smalls,” Hadid tells Vogue. “She taught me to bring my own concealer,” which she says is always Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer ($8), “and she taught me that no one looks out for you the way that you look out for you.” With those lessons in her back pocket, Hadid now takes makeup matters into her own hands if she’s not feeling confident about her backstage glam.
“And we’re really not supposed to do this as models because we are employees—we show up to work, we get our makeup done exactly how we’re supposed to look—but sometimes you don’t always look that cute! So, we hide in the bathroom, and what we are doing is contouring ourselves…You add little things to yourself that make you feel confident.” Hadid’s go-to: Using some extra bronzer along her jawline, her “3’s,” and along the nose in an arrow-like shape that finishes at the tip.
When she’s not prepping for a show, the supermodel is home watching over her new baby girl, Khai. “I’m only coming on my fourth month of new-momhood, but I would just say that we should all try to focus on taking time for ourselves,” she explains.
For the supermodel, moments of self-care have been spent perfecting her post-pregnancy beauty routine. Included in her lineup: a combination of the ceramide-rich and wonderfully hydrating Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream ($48), Odacité Mo+P Very Dry Skin Moringa Petitgrain Serum Concentrate ($46), and the ever-popular, vitamin-E infused Lano Strawberry 101 Ointment Multi-Balm ($14).
