The “flashy girl from Flushing” and SAG president Fran Drescher did not disappoint on tonight’s red carpet. Dressed in a fitted, rose-gold suit, Drescher’s long-time stylist Jon Lieckfelt shared exactly what went into the T.V. icon’s look.
“For Fran’s SAG Awards look, I used the Sitting Pretty Halo Hair extensions in color number 2,” says Lieckfelt. “We wanted to achieve something that wasn’t over styled and felt very relatable, yet aspirational.”
For the prep, the team started with clean, dry hair and applied a heat protectant. Lieckfelt then used a round brush to blow-dry the hair for smoothness and volume, focusing on the roots for lift.
After sectioning the hair, Lieckfelt created a horizontal part at the crown, separating the top portion of the hair. He clipped the top section up, leaving the lower portion free. After applying the First Halo (Medium Brown 2/4 – Darker Shade) he placed the Sitting Pretty Halo around the widest part of the head, attaching Velcro clips in the back for “extra security.”
“I blended the natural hair over the wire and gently combed through for seamless integration,” he says. “The next step was to stack the Second Halo [Medium Brown – Lighter Shade] and let down a thin layer of natural hair over the first Halo.”
After a lot of positioning, layering and blending the extensions, Lieckfelt styled Drescher’s ‘do. “I went for a beautiful voluminous blowout vibe using the Sitting Pretty Teasing Comb and brushing it strategically in place. Using a 1.25-inch curling iron or hot rollers, it creates soft, voluminous waves.”
His pro tip: “Curl away from the face for a glamorous effect and lightly brush through the curls with a wide-tooth comb. This gives a polished, yet effortless finish.”
For the finishing touches, Lieckfelt used a light mist of texture spray for movement and hold. “I smoothed fly-aways with a lightweight hair serum and shine spray,” Lieckfelt says. “We then tucked one side slightly behind the ear. This method helps frame the face elegantly, and enhances volume, length and fullness, while maintaining a natural, sophisticated look.”
