Sheika Daley, Law Roach and Zendaya began working as a trio over a decade ago to curate the actress’s looks as a team. Sheika has since become a star in her own right. She not only still works with Zendaya, but also does makeup for Keke Palmer, Taraji P. Henson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Kelly Rowland and more. Sheika was recently announced as Lancôme’s newest global international artist. During a makeup tutorial we were lucky enough to attend, we got some insight from Sheika.

Lancôme recently launched a new and improved Teint Idole Ultrawear Foundation ($57). The reformulation made Ultrawear the brand’s thinnest and most breathable formula yet. Sheika notes that what she’s found is that while some 24-hour foundations are great, they aren’t breathable. On the contrary, she says the new Ultrawear “formulation is almost like liquid nylon.” She adds that “it really stretches and adheres to skin. You’re not going to smile, and it’s going to crack, and everything is out of place.”

Ultrawear has more of a “matte type of payoff,” says Sheika. Her trick to getting a more glowy finish with the 24-hour staying powder is to mix the foundation with Absolue Soft Cream Moisturizer ($150). By doing this Sheika says she can attain the finish of the brand’s glowier option, Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow Foundation ($57), with the long wear of Ultrawear. Sheika calls Absolue her “holy grail,” noting that it can “transform foundation.”

Another quick foundation trick Sheika shared was using two different colors. By using two slightly different colors, Sheika is able to create a highlighted look just with foundation products.
