One of the beauty trends of the last couple of years that has surprised me the most is the fake freckle phenomenon. As a naturally freckly girly, I spent years trying to conceal my freckles to create that airbrushed, "flawless" complexion. But, as a more natural makeup look took hold, we started to embrace the freckly look, and honestly, I couldn't be happier. With celebrities like Hailey Bieber taking on the cutesy trend, freckles are totally in right now, but nailing the fake freckle look isn't easy.
For as long as fake freckles have been popular, there have been tons of hacks for getting the look, from specially designed freckle pens to henna and temporary tattoos, but many yield less-than-natural-looking results. The unique and definitive thing about freckles is that they're random and sporadic, which makes recreating them a tough task. But, when I stumbled across the below TikTok video in which user @makeupmadhouse uses what appears to be a brown brow gel and a thin toothpick to splatter paint freckles across her face, I was truly in awe.

In @makeupmadhouse's video, she uses a thick, tinted brow gel brush and a plastic toothbrush to ruffle the bristles and allow the pigment to spray across her cheeks like splatter paint, resulting in a perfectly imperfect fake freckle look.
