Between stepping back into her role as Rose Cameron on Season 2 of Netflix’s hit series Outer Banks (it starts steaming July 30) and setting up some much-needed relaxation time in her kiddie pool this summer, Caroline Arapoglou chatted with us about all things skin care, vitamin C and tinted sunscreen.
“I recently discovered BeautyStat through my beauty editor friend Daise Bedolla. Their vitamin C, the Universal C Refiner, is one of my new go-tos. I learned it’s hard to keep vitamin C stable when it’s exposed to light, and their packaging keeps the formula effective until it’s gone. My holy grail skin products are SK-II Treatment Essence, which is gentle and still somehow completely resurfaces your skin. Mario Badescu’s pink Drying Lotion for zits has been a ride-or-die for me for years. I also use Drunk Elephant Babyfacial once a week. It feels the closest to a proper aesthetician strength facial treatment at home…but set a timer! You definitely don’t want to leave it on too long.”
“I am so lucky to work with professional hair and makeup artists all of the time for work. I am constantly asking questions and learning about new products. Deidre Outlaw, my makeup artist at Outer Banks, is always introducing me to new products. We have to be really serious about sunscreen on the show because we spend so much time filming outside and near the beach. She uses La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted Sunscreen on me during filming, and now it’s one of my regulars in real life. The SPF is 50+ and it has such a thin, natural finish. The tinting is really subtle and has a glowy finish. It also doesn’t break me out, which is, frankly, a miracle. I’m obsessed. TV sets also always have hot towels steaming to take your makeup off at the end of the day. It has sort of become a ritual to signify the workday is over and it’s time to start to power down. Usually after wrap, you’ll find handful of us in the makeup trailer lined up for the hot towels. I do it at home now, too!”
“I feel like the Cameron family gets great development this season. I’m excited for viewers to see the dynamic between all of us, especially between Rose and the kids. This season is just so action packed and exciting and the stakes are so high. I think people are going to love it. The soundtrack is amazing too! It’s a great summer track list.”
“I am really excited to share the show with everyone! I can’t wait to share what our cast and especially our crew worked so hard on. I spent most of June in Greece and it was absolute perfection, so I’m excited to be home now and to be able to spend time with other fully vaccinated friends! And anyone that knows me knows I love my kiddie pool…so she’s inflated and ready to go.”
