Carolina Herrera is joining the droves of luxury fashion brands stepping into the beauty space. Herrera Beauty launches this month exclusively at Macy’s online. While Herrera’s isn’t the first fashion brand to launch a makeup line this year, she’s certainly put her own spin on it.
The new line is all about individuality. According to a statement, the makeup blurs the line between beauty and jewelry and can be fully customizable. The launch was developed mostly by Carolina Herrera beauty director Carolina A. Herrera, Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon, and global makeup consultant Lauren Parsons.
Each product can be personalized with charms and accessories. There are endless combinations that give the consumer the chance to have a piece unique to them. “At Herrera Beauty, we approach makeup like we approach fashion; with joy and real Alegria de vivir,” says Herrera in a statement.
Herrera Beauty aims to alter how we look at makeup. “Traditionally, makeup is something that you keep out of sight, but we believe that there is no shame or frivolity in embracing and wanting to celebrate beauty, on the contrary! It’s a transformative act, one that has the power to uplift, to elevate and to embolden,” says Herrera.
The Lipstick ($54) comes in three finishes—sheer, satin and matter—and 43 refillable shades from bright reds to soft nudes. There are eight shades of The Mini Tint ($26) to choose from, including a PH reactive shade. The Lip Liquid ($32) offers 20 highly pigmented shades in two finishes: powder matte velvet and ultra-mirror shine vinyl.
The Powder ($89) comes in eight shades for lightweight, blendable coverage. The brand also carries The Highlighter ($115) and The Mattifier ($89). With every piece of makeup, you can choose your case and charms to go with it for a totally bespoke product.
