7 Jobs That Could Make You Age Faster

For the most part, every job carries its own set of stress inducers. Deadlines, presentations and networking—all these things cause anxiety and pressure, which can lead to premature lines and wrinkles on your face. Some jobs, however, not only cause early wrinkles, but also increase risk of skin cancer, dark spots and skin that sags earlier than it should. New York dermatologist Darrell Rigel, MD, says these are the seven worst jobs for your skin.
High-Rise Office Workers
"Regular 9–5ers with indoor corporate jobs seem to be unlikely candidates for being at high risk for skin cancer, but research shows that melanoma occurs when people are exposed to bursts of sun. For those who are indoors all week, that burst of sun on the weekends could be dangerous.”
Pilots and Flight Attendants
"A new study in JAMA Dermatology reports that it may be the radiation from the high altitude in-flight that ups their risk similar to an indoor tanning bed session."
“Exposure to noxious fumes from flames can damage the DNA in your skin cells and possibly prompt skin cancer.”
Farmers and Oil-Refinery Workers
"They’re at risk of non-melanoma skin cancer due to the nuclear radiation they come in contact with."
UV rays can come through car windows and “research shows that people who drive long distances, like truck drivers, have more signs of aging on their left side (the side exposed to the sun).”
