Tatcha’s Best-Selling Primer Is About to Get Even Better
By Olivia Wohlner |
When Tatcha released their first-ever primer in February of 2018, The Silk Canvas, the crowd went wild. This cult-favorite is a balm-like product that is infused with pressed silk, blurs unwanted imperfections and gives the skin a lit-from-within glow. Now, Tatcha is re-inventing this product by releasing a brand-new formula with the same great effect: The Liquid Silk Canvas ($52).
What’s most exciting about this new addition to the Silk Canvas family is that it’s lightweight and oil-free, which makes it usable for all skin types. The packaging is also now in pump form instead of the pressed cream, which means it’s more sanitary and a bit easier to use.
The three main ingredients in this product are derived from silk: fibroin, sericin and silk powder. These ingredients combine to replicate the weightless wonders of silk while also nourishing the skin, preventing dryness and blurring enlarged pores and wrinkles.
Celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin, who has a long list of clients including Meghan Markle, Nina Dobrev and Jessica Alba, seems to be just excited about this revamp as we are. He talks about how this primer is not only useful for the whole face, but also for the eyes and lips. “Applying this on the eye really does give a great payoff and longevity to the eyeshadow.”

He also says, “I tend to use a lot of water-based foundations, so this primer being oil free is going to be the perfect partner for that because it really helps grab the makeup.”
Unfortunately, Tatcha lovers must wait
until March third for the release of this must-have. No one likes waiting. But
if it’s for The Silk Canvas, we will wait a lifetime.
