Saks Now Has a Beauty Rewards Program—Here’s What You Need to Know

When you think of beauty rewards, retailers like Sephora and Ulta probably come to mind. But where popular point-based loyalty programs fail, according to consumers, is sampling. Sure, it’s great to receive a free miniature-size freebie for your birthday and when you hit a point milestone, but wouldn’t it be even better if deluxe-size products (you know, the ones that last for longer than one use) you actually wanted were the only rewards on the table?
Well, we're in luck. Saks Fifth Avenue is bringing its bright and shiny beauty department a little bit more attainable with the introduction of SaksFirst Beauty Reward Program, the department store’s new loyalty system that allows members to test deluxe-size beauty products (yes, including the luxury brands you’re thinking) for free—well, sort of.
Here’s how it goes: To start receiving the samples, you must first be a SaksFirst credit card holder. Then, after spending your first $250, you’ll receive your first Beauty Box (along with access to an exclusive newsletter from the Saks beauty team). Inside, you can find a miniature Lancôme Definicils Mascara, Prada Olfactories Cargo de Nuit Eau de Parfum, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil and Yves Saint Laurent Mini Rouge Pur Couture.

Incredible, right? But it doesn’t stop there—the samples get better, and more luxe, the more you spend on your SaksFirst card. Once you reach the $500, $750 and $1,000, thresholds, each tier grants you another Beauty Box—think brands like La Mer, Sisley-Paris, Dior and Clé de Peau Beauté—along with perks, such as at-home services, too.
So while the program isn’t exactly free, the samples pretty much pay for themselves if you’re an avid shopper. You can sign up for a SaksFirst Credit Card online here, of if you’re already a member, start earning your box points with your next Saks purchase.
