In a recent interview with The Cut, makeup artist to the stars—we’re talking Ariana Grande, Bella Hadid, Kim Kardashian and Lily-Rose Depp— and Dior Beauty’s U.S. makeup ambassador Sam Visser talks through the products he uses until the last drop, and many of them are under $10.

Starting with skin care, Visser touts Kiko Milano Makeup Remover Scrub & Peel 2-Sided Wipes ($15), explaining that they’re great at exfoliating all of the dead skin cells off the top layer of the face. “My lips get super chapped, and if I don’t exfoliate them, I’ll bite them, and these wipes get all that dead skin off,” he adds. “Or if I’m doing a lip story and I need perfectly exfoliated juicy lips, this is the perfect product to get there.”

Visser’s daily serum is the cult-classic Is Clinical Active Serum ($138), an essential product that he says helps with post-shave dark spots. He applies it all over the face to brighten, an effect he noticed just after one use. Lastly, he applies his favorite moisturizer, Weleda Skin Food ($19). “This really is one of my top three products ever because it’s so universal—I love a multipurpose product,” he tells The Cut. “I’ll use it as makeup or as skin prep, as hand cream, as a mixer for products — it’s kind of great for all beauty things.” Sometimes, he even uses it as a highlighter.
