“It turns out that a little spray tan and a little peroxide goes a long way,” Anna Paquin has said about her transformation from a naturally shy, dark and brooding actress to a blonde, bouncy bombshell for the role of Sookie Stackhouse on TV’s True Blood

With all jokes aside, Paquin’s pale skin tone and brown eyes are enhanced by her light hair and bronzed skin. Recently at the show’s season six premiere Paquin played up her sultry look with a summer spin on the smoky eye.

To get the look:

Start by applying an eye shadow all over the lid in a bronze/copper shade. We love the Stila Eyeshadow Palette In The Light ($39) for this as it contains a number of bronze shades so you can find the one that best fits your look. The palette also includes a Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel, a matte chocolate brown, for you to line your upper and lower eye with. Finish with a couple of coats of dark brown or black shimmering mascara on your top and bottom lashes. Try Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara ($28). For a bronzed cheek like Paquin’s, apply a bronzer underneath the cheekbones. Try Hot Escapes Bronzer in Tahiti ($28)—not only does it blend perfectly to give a golden glow, it smells like a summer breeze.
