Comedian, writer, podcast host and chronic oversharer Whitney Cummings built an empire out of her chaos, and has learned a trick or two along the way about how to slow it all down. Here, our exclusive interview.
Oil Obsession
"Growing up on a farm, my aunt always taught me that you treat your skin like the leather on a saddle: You always oil it, you never let it out in the sun and you never let it air-dry without oil on it.
I never actually wash my face. Before I get into the shower, I put oil all over my body, wash everything, and then I put oil on again and get out. I do the same with my face. Lots of oils! Grapeseed oil, tomato seed oil, olive oil—I just get them at Whole Foods or wherever. I'm always pretty lubed up. I have oils all over my house in pumps everywhere."
Sleep Routine
"I sleep a ton. I'm super psycho about sleep. I always make sure to get eight hours, even if it's broken up. I also sleep on my back with noise-canceling headphones on so that it keeps me from turning onto my side. I don't want my silk pillowcase to absorb all my product and not my skin."
Light Touch
"I use the iRESTORE LED Face Mask ($399) three or four times a week, but I do it for a long time, whenever I'm stuck in a chair working for hours, or when I'm scrolling social media. I think it works, and a lot of smart people seem to think it works, too. I also do the sauna three or four times a week if I'm not on tour. It's hard to know if these things are working independently or all working together, but I like them."

Body Work
"I used to be the person rushing to SoulCycle, but I think one of my biggest health secrets is: Find ways to do it at home. I buy a lot of little random exercise machines off TikTok Shop. Grip strength is a big one—those little squeezy things that bodybuilders use. I've heard that grip strength is linked to longevity because it imprints on your DNA.
I'm also a kettlebell queen; I have one in every room in my house. I like to surprise my body—it never knows what's coming. I also stretch all day. I think body posture is a big thing, too. I try to invert my body as much as I can to undo what I did when I was hunched over the computer for two hours."
Salt Therapy
"I'm obsessed with hypochlorous acid spray, which is electrolyzed salt water. I use it instead of hand sanitizer because most traditional sanitizers are really abrasive and toxic. And speaking of salt, I'm also loving the Torhop Saunan Heating Salt Mask ($30). You do shower steam and then you put it on, and my skin has just been so clear ever since I started using it."
Energy Shift
"When it comes to supplements, the Tru Niagen NAD+ Booster ($116) is amazing; I get their IV drips as well. I also take NMN, glutathione and Thorne's Creatine ($44).
For sleep, I use topical magnesium and sometimes the oral version. For energy, I take 5-HTP, which also helps my skin. I think the resveratrol thing is a scam—I don't do that. For hair, I take Nutrafol ($88) and Hers minoxidil because after having my kid, my hairline started receding."
Food Thoughts
"I think stress ages us the most, and stressing about food is the worst. I eat a high-fat diet because it gives me the most energy and makes me think about food less. I can't be obsessing about food all day if I'm hungry because I only ate a salad. I also like feeling full. I will eat a donut if it makes me have a happy day. And for me, eating things that are considered 'bad' is part of what really gets me motivated to work out [laughs]. At this point in my life, I'll take what I can get."
