Move over leopard print—tiger print is the newest animal print in town. While it’s already emerged as a top trend in fashion, tiger print is now making its way into beauty, specifically on our fingertips. As beauty lovers know, fashion and beauty trends are closely intertwined, and tiger print manicures are poised to dominate as one of the top nail trends of 2026. Google searches for “tiger nails” have already increased by 48 percent worldwide over the past year.
If you’re looking for a fresh spring manicure idea, tiger nails might be your best bet. Consider them a bold alternative to your go-to leopard or zebra print. “Nail trends are often heavily influenced by fashion trends, and right now we are seeing tiger print everywhere, from runways to celebrities like Kendall Jenner,” says Annabelle Taurua, beauty expert at Fresha. “Leopard print nails have been popular for years, so it feels like people are ready for the next evolution, as Google searches for ‘tiger nails’ begin to increase.”
Leopard print manicure lovers shouldn’t worry, though; Taurua says that leopard print will always be a mainstay as well. “However, tiger print feels more directional right now,” she says. “It aligns closely with what fashion editors are highlighting for the year ahead, which is a common contributing factor to many trends that find their way into the world of beauty and nails.”
Tiger nails may seem like a bold move, but the style is surprisingly wearable across nail shapes and lengths. If you prefer to ease into the pattern, you’re not alone—Taurua says many clients are starting small before committing to a full set. A French manicure keeps the nail art limited to the tip, while mixing and matching allows you to wear tiger print on just one or two nails and keep the rest solid or subtly patterned.
“Accent nails or tiger print French tips are a popular entry point,” says Taurua. “It allows customers to dip their toes into the trend in a way that feels most authentic to them and their style. Keeping nails short to mid-length and sticking to classic shapes also helps the look feel polished and wearable.”
While you may assume tiger nails require an orange-and-black color palette, that’s not the case. Neutral shades or colors you already gravitate toward for a manicure work just as well with the pattern.
“Tiger print works beautifully on nails because the lines are fluid rather than harsh,” says Taurua. “When paired with neutral tones such as soft browns, black or beige, it feels more elevated than loud and makes it a super wearable print. This balance is often what turns a fashion moment into a mainstream nail trend.”
Think of tiger nails as a more minimalist take on nail art. If you like a simpler nail design without a completely plain solid color, manicures such as cat-eye nail polish, chrome finish, polka dot nails and now tiger print nails are ideal for a more gentle transition into bold nail art.
“Much like leopard print, tiger print offers something more interesting than a plain nude, without the need to commit to bright colors and bulky designs,” says Taurua.
Taurua believes tiger print nails have longevity and are here to stay, rather than fading as a fleeting manicure trend. “Trends that allow customers to play with patterns, while keeping shades wearable for the everyday, is often where we will see trends really take off,” she says.
