As a beauty writer, my social feeds are constantly flooded with manicure inspiration, from cool nail art to trend-driven shades. But when it comes to celebrity nails, Selena Gomez is always top of mind (and moodboard). Whether she’s hitting the red carpet or making a TV appearance, her nails never miss—and she’s just ushered in the next “it” shade for spring: dusty rose.
The multi-hyphenate stepped out to celebrate Rare Beauty’s launch at Ulta Beauty with a perfectly on-brand manicure created by longtime manicurist Tom Bachik. Using Olive & June’s HZ Gel Polish, Bachik revealed that Gomez’s beauty brand was the sole inspiration for the springy look.
But the soft dusty rose wasn’t just “perfect for the occasion,” as Bachik noted—it’s also undeniably spring-coded. A delicate blend of rose and pinky nude, HZ feels like an easy shade to lean into right now. Chic and minimalist, it works for Valentine’s Day without feeling overdone and doubles as a seamless transition into spring during winter’s coldest stretch. For Gomez, it also happened to be a very fitting Rare Beauty hue.
To complete the look, Bachik paired the cool pink with short, square extensions. While the shape is new for Gomez, it aligns effortlessly with her signature style. And given her manicure-chameleon status, it may not stick around for long. Luckily, recreating the look at home is simple: just a few coats of Olive & June’s polish, finished with a glossy top coat.
