An Injectable Just Got FDA Approval for Chest Wrinkles—Here’s What to Know

The décolleté now has its own FDA-approved filler.

For all the attention on facial rejuvenation, the chest often tells a different story. Years of sun exposure, thinner skin and skipped skin care tend to show up here early, often as creasing and texture changes that don’t respond easily to topical products.

Radiesse is now FDA-approved for treating wrinkles in the décolleté, making it the first filler injectable with a true on-label indication for the chest. The new indication expands beyond its established use in the face and hands, shifting the focus toward improving skin quality, not just restoring volume. As a calcium-based biostimulator, it works by stimulating collagen and elastin production over time, helping improve the look and feel of the skin rather than creating an immediate fill.

“Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler, and it’s mixed and diluted to create hyperdilute Radiesse, which allows for treatment of the chest and face to stimulate collagen and elastin,” explains Vienna, VA dermatologist Brenda Dintiman, MD.

According to company data, patients experienced visible improvement within a few months, with results lasting up to two years. “Patients love Radiesse because it jump-starts the skin’s regenerative process, giving them firmer, smoother, more radiant-looking results without surgery,” adds Miami dermatologist Jeremy Green, MD, who participated in the clinical studies.

“The décolleté is one of the most visible—and earliest—areas to show signs of aging,” says Samantha Kerr, chief scientific officer at Merz Aesthetics, in a press release. “Because it’s often overlooked in skin care routines and aesthetic care, this delicate area can benefit from Radiesse to help improve the appearance of wrinkles.”

While the chest is often one of the last areas patients choose to treat, this approval brings new attention—and an FDA-backed option—to one of the first places aging tends to show.
