Pinterest predicted it as the next big thing in makeup for 2025, right alongside Rococo and aura makeup. “I think having more ‘fun’ with makeup will come back into play in 2025,” says Miami makeup artist Natalie Dresher. “I think we’ll see a bit of a departure from the clean girl look that’s dominated trends in favor of more color and unique concepts.” Enter deeper purples, which have gained a quick reputation for being ultra-flattering. Add to that a resurgence in fun, experimental makeup looks, and you have a recipe for success. Lilac and lavender align perfectly with the Rococo resurgence for their blurry pastel tones. And deeper shades like berry and mauve are ideal for the big, bold looks set to take over this year.
