Carisa Janes knows how to create and support a successful beauty brand—just look at what she’s done for Hourglass Cosmetics. Now, Janes is embarking on a new venture, relaunching the skin-care brand Nature of Things, which was originally launched in 2019. She’s brought the brand into a n exciting new era of offering elevated, natural, plant-based essentials.
“With Nature of Things, I was inspired by the brand’s vision and its potential to become a leader for the modern consumer. The collection captures the power of nature to deliver uncompromising performance, and I saw an opportunity to redefine luxury personal care with plant-based formulations that bring both efficacy and transparency to everyday essentials,” Janes tells us. She says her priority “was to create a brand where consumers can trust that every detail—from formulas and ingredients to packaging—reflects true transparency, while delivering the experience and performance of luxury.” Luckily, I was able to snag some samples of the debut lineup and my favorite products of the bunch have already found a secure spot in my shower routine.

Nature of Things Sea Moss & Plum Oil Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner ($72 each)
The intoxicating scent is the first thing you’ll notice about this luxe formula. The brand’s volumizing shampoo adds impressive texture, movement and hydration to hair. Meanwhile, the volumizing conditioner ensures hair is manageable and devoid of tangles. This duo features natural ingredients like plum oil, radish seed, rosemary and magnolia bark. I love the shiny, volumizing boost the combo gives my hair without the pesky chemicals that are usually needed to plump up my strands.
Nature of Things Awakening Santal Body Wash ($48)
I’m a sucker for a santal, so I wasn’t too surprised that this body wash scent stood out to me among the rest. I love an awakening body wash for those mornings when you need a jolt of something extra energizing to go with your coffee. The formula, featuring aloe leaf, glycerin and coconut fatty acids, soothes and moisturizes skin for a healthy, hydrated, thriving skin barrier.
