Mary Phillips, the renowned makeup artist of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, recently revealed that the question she gets asked the most pertains to Jenner’s lashes. In an Instagram video, she said the top query for her is, “What fake lashes is Kendall wearing?” Since everyone wants to know, Phillips decided to drop the star’s secret lash routine.

The secret is that Jenner, L’Oréal Paris’ newest global ambassador, doesn’t actually wear any faux lashes—what you see is all hers with a big boost from some hardworking mascara. “This is our trick: L’Oréal Voluminous Panorama Washable Mascara ($16),” Jenner says, holding up the golden bottle to the camera.
Phillips then reveals another secret—Jenner does her lash routine on her own. “I feel like everybody is better at doing their lashes,” says Phillips. Jenner agrees it’s easier to “be able to really get in there” when you’re applying mascara on yourself.
