MAC Cosmetics Is Coming to Sephora

The wait is nearly over.

Updated February 25, 2026: MAC Cosmetics, the storied makeup brand with over 40 years of industry history, will officially be available at Sephora on March 2, 2026. Starting next month, the beauty retailer will carry MAC’s full range of products online at Sephora.com and at 105 locations across the U.S. The rollout will also include a curated selection at Sephora at Kohl’s locations.

The news alone is enough to shake the beauty community. But in true MAC fashion, it also came with a special campaign starring Chappell Roan, along with Gabbriette and Quenlin Blackwell, which did not disappoint. It features two side-by-side images of the songstress in two distinct makeup looks. The first, a dainty and whimsical face with flushed skin and a pretty pink lip. The second, a bolder approach in which Roan sports an edgy full-coverage face—think cut crease eyeshadow, matte skin and a chocolate cherry lip.

Artistry and glamour shots are deeply rooted in MAC's identity, and it’s no coincidence that both are used in its first Sephora ad campaign. When the plans to enter Sephora were announced in late 2025, rumors circulated that the company was in trouble. However, the strong campaign imagery reassures fans that the brand is very much intact.

“We’ve long been known for bold makeup, but that’s only part of the story. This campaign reveals the full spectrum of who we are,” says MAC Global Creative Director Nicola Formichetti in a statement.

While the decision is part of a larger distribution strategy from MAC’s parent company, The Estée Lauder Companies, it has already boosted sales, according to company reports.

Original article published November 3, 2025: The rumors are true: MAC Cosmetics is joining Sephora. After much speculation, news broke that the makeup and cosmetics brand plans to launch in U.S Sephora stores in early 2026. Their products will be available at select Sephora locations and at Sephora at Kohl’s.

While this isn’t the brand’s first foray into beauty superstores (MAC has been available at ULTA since 2017), it does mark a major moment for the brand. In a recent press release, Tara Simon, President, The Americas, The Estée Lauder Companies, shared that the strategic collaboration is the result of years of successful partnership with Sephora in global markets. "We are deeply committed to delivering Sephora U.S. clients a dynamic shopping experience—both in-store and online—while continuing to innovate, inspire creativity and build community."

The announcement comes on the heels of MAC’s resurgence within the artist community. In May 2025, Nicola Formichetti became the Global Creative Director of the brand. Under his leadership, there has been a significant return to the artistic marketing endeavors that helped make MAC a household name. In September, Doja Cat became the newest Global Ambassador, which brought forth major campaigns and her hair-raising lipstick stunt at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Shortly after, Kris Jenner (and her freshly-lifted face) made headlines for becoming one of the new faces of MAC’s iconic Studio Fix Fluid foundation. Her feature in the ‘I Only Wear MAC’ ad campaign was among the most viral of the bunch. MAC has also been a strong contender on TikTok, with several products leading top-searched categories, which led to its debut on TikTok Shop in early July 2025.

Launching in Sephora will no doubt continue the brand’s efforts to extend its reach and accessibility. Helmed by The Estée Lauder Companies, MAC has always held a longstanding relationship within the beauty community. From artists to creators, they’ve been a go-to makeup brand for decades—delivering professional-grade products, high-quality formulas and championing inclusivity within the industry.
