He may conjure up thoughts of love songs, but Lionel Richie isn’t exactly a go-to choice when you think of cosmetics…until now? As reported by Ace Showbiz, apparently Richie’s company filed a trademark for a beauty line aptly named “Hello by Lionel Richie” last week. The copyright is quite extensive, covering cosmetics, face masks, body glitter, bath beads, hair bows, and nail polish, and a separate trademark has been filed for candles as well. So, besides the obvious questions—will daughter Nicole lend a hand?—we had to ask: Is this the most random celebrity-powered line ever? Or has our memory forgotten about some of our favorites…

Jessica Simpson: Dessert Beauty
When Jessica Simpson’s edible beauty line, Dessert, hit shelves at Sephora in 2004, it was kind of a big deal. There were a lot of sugary-sweet scents and a lot of pink, but unfortunately, some lawsuits stalled the lifespan of the products and they were pretty much gone two years later.

Victoria Beckham: V-Sculpt
She may have just announced a limited-edition collaboration with Estée Lauder, but this isn’t the former Spice Girl’s first foray into the world of beauty. In 2007, she launched the V-Sculpt makeup line in Tokyo in part of a deal with Coty.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Cosmetics
Before there was Elizabeth and James, there was Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Cosmetics (think more Full House, less high-fashion). Sadly, the slew of sparkly lip glosses and high-drama eye shadows only exist for purchase on eBay now, but by the looks of it, a whole lot of people have held on to these pre-teen tokens.

Lindsay Lohan: Sevin Nyne
Say what you will about Lindsay Lohan, but when her tanning mist debuted, it got a ton of positive reviews. It was a little tricky to apply, but once you got past the testing stage, the product actually did give off that believable “I-just-got-back-from-the-tropics” glow.

Kate Hudson: David Babaii for Wild Aid
Before everyone was on the search for sulfate-free shampoo, Kate Hudson gave some star power—and a percentage of revenue to wildlife conservation—to celeb stylist David Babaii’s eco-friendly line of products and styling tools.

Madonna: MDNA
It seems like everything Madonna does gets mega media attention, but the launch of her MDNA skin care line was surprisingly pretty under-the-radar. Created with Michelle Peck, skin care artist and Madonna's skin care advisor (that's evidently a thing now), the three-piece line—there’s a clay mask, a serum and the Skin Rejuvenator—is currently only available for purchase in Japan.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Rosie for Autograph
Another brand that's (luckily) still on shelves, this line from the always-glowing model and actress is meant to be “modern makeup” that’s “easy-to-use.”
