Lenny Kravitz turns 60 in May and we aren’t sure how he’s managed to maintain both a sexy, vintage throwback vibe with a futuristic twist his entire career. We’re also never quite sure what decade Lenny is in at any point in time, but the star has been aging like fine wine the entire time.
“My grandfather lived into his 90s and he had a thirst for life, for learning, for growing and I think I’ve inherited that from him,” he shared with Vogue in 2020. “With the genes that I have from my parents and my grandparents, we don’t seem to visibly age like one might think, so all of those things together—with, of course, taking care of yourself, putting the right things in your body and taking care of your mind and spirit—have contributed to aging just being about experiencing and living, not about falling apart.”

Raw Power
In 2016, Lenny shared a Facebook photo with fans of his kitchen counter filled with fruits and vegetables. He captioned it, “100% raw for two months now. Amazing for one’s health and the environment. #rawfood.” He’s been vocal about his plant-based diet, which he credits for keeping him healthy and fit. While he follows a mostly raw, whole foods, plant-based diet, he’s also confessed to enjoying the occasional cheat meals consisting of pasta, bread, pancakes, waffles and other carbs.

Outdoor Adventures
“I like to be outdoors doing things that you can do with your body—pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, squats. Gyms are cool, but I find them boring. I prefer to run outside in nature—it’s far more inspiring,” said Kravitz to Happy Magazine.

Cardio Craze
The singer told Men’s Health his fitness routine includes fasted cardio in the morning, cardio before bed to keep burning all night and strength training during the day.
Kravitz said, “My best shape is not behind me; it’s in front of me right now. We keep moving that bar as we get older.” Kravitz claims that he owes his washboard abs to his active outdoor lifestyle. According to GQ Australia, a typical day begins with cycling around his island, paddle boarding and walking on his private island Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
He also told Vogue how much he loves to cycle: “That’s been my form of cardio that I enjoy the most here, rather than being on a treadmill,” he said. “It’s getting out in the sun and riding on the road with a lot of it on the ocean. It’s so beautiful and it gives you time to meditate.”

Skin Care Simplified
When it comes to anti-aging, Kravitz told Vogue he keeps things simple. “The things that I use on my body are the same that I’ve always used,” he said, including a list of all-natural nourishers like coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter, as well as Dr. Bronner’s Almond Pure-Castile Liquid Soap. “I wash my body in it. I wash my hair with it. I washed my clothes in it,” he said.

Sun and Sand
“We have the most beautiful sand here in the Bahamas—it’s very, very powdery, very fine,” he told Vogue. “So, when I’m in the ocean and I want to scrub my body, I use the sand. That’s what’s going on over here.”

Pearly Whites
