The Kim Kardashian West the world knows today is one of, if not the biggest, beauty icon that exists. With her KKW makeup line and ever changing hairstyles, she can be credited for introducing most beauty trends.

However, that wasn’t always the case and the mother of two reminded us this with her most recent throwback Instagram.
On Friday, Kim shared an up close shot of herself looking over her shoulder from 2007. In the caption, she joked, “2007 Before I knew what hair extensions and fake lashes were.”
Kim has never really shied away from reflecting on past beauty mishaps. A few months ago she also shared a shot of her at 17 where her green eyeshadow matched her her green dress.
“In the early 2000s, I would do a lot of bright colors, especially turquoise,” she wrote in a post on her app. “I wore a turquoise top and turquoise eye makeup — and even turquoise flower hair clips!”
So next time you see a picture of yourself from high school and cringe, just remember even the queen of beauty was right there with you.
