She also paused the medication for health reasons.

While many celebrities have lauded the benefits of being on GLP-1 medications, fewer have discussed what happens when you alter your routine in a way that could make it less effective. During a recent interview on Radio Andy’s "Jeff Lewis Live,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania got candid about her health struggles and how they may have impacted her recent weight fluctuation.

During the interview, Catania shared that Mounjaro, which she’d previously cited for working wonders, had stopped working, and she’d gained back the weight she lost. “I’m having a really hard time right now. My Mounjaro stopped working, I gained 20 pounds,” she shared. “I’ve been looking for therapy for all my friends. I’m really having a bad time with this.”

At closer glance, it seems the medication may have stopped working because she paused taking it to prep for a cardiac ablation procedure to address her irregular heartbeat. “Maybe that’s why I gained weight,” she said. “I’m hoping maybe that’s why.”

Additionally, the 54-year-old star is on a bunch of medications while she’s recovering—about 10 pills a day. “It’s just a formality now. I have to take it for the next 90 days—then I should be done,” she explained.
