All eyes are on Kelsea Ballerini as she hosts tonight's CMT Music Awards live from Austin, TX. Along with her waist-grazing blonde strands and radiant makeup, Ballerini's nude chrome nails are getting some well-deserved attention. Kait Mosh, the celebrity's nail artist for the night, says the shade was chosen with care—and we're predicting we'll see it everywhere soon.
"As the host of the show, Kelsea has endless looks throughout, so we wanted a nail look that would stand out but also complement any color she wore," says Mosh. "We landed on a soft, sheer nude with one coat of Olive & June's Pink Capiz ($9) and one coat of Pink Goldfish ($9) for a highlighter chrome finish." The result: a more feminine take on the trending chrome manicure.

Nude Chrome Nails: How to Get the Look
To create Ballerini's look yourself, Mosh says to start with a cuticle serum and hand treatment "to allow the product to soak into the skin." Then, prep the nails—"file, push back cuticles, trim hangnails and dead skin, and gently buff nails." Next, thoroughly wipe the nails clean to remove any remaining lotion and serum before applying a nail primer (she used Olive & June Nail Primer) allowing two minutes to dry.
Up next: the polish. "Apply one even coat of Pink Capiz, allowing to dry for two minutes. Then apply one even coat of Pink Goldfish, allowing to dry for two minutes. Then gently apply Quick Dry Top Coat." Mosh then cleaned up the nails and carefully treated cuticles. "Be careful: Nails will be fully dry in approximately one hour," she says.
