Apparently, Tracce Ellis Ross is not only an actress, singer, television host and brand founder—she is also a makeup artist, hairstylist and photographer.

Last night, the star took to Instagram to show off her (virtual) 2020 BET Awards glam look—but the biggest catch was that she didn’t have her usual hair and makeup squad by her side; she took on this mission solo.

Showing off her bright lip and swift hair, the Blackish star mentioned how she used her own haircare brand, Pattern Beauty, for the styling of her eye-catching ‘do. “Made some cursive extravagance with my grown woman hairs for the virtual @betawards. When you get to be cast, crew and glam. Thank you iPhone tripod and thank @patternbeauty #betawards,” she writes.

Made for the curliest of curls, Pattern is best known for its ability to take on 3B to 4C coils and let the natural shape of the hair truly shine. Known for their large range of shampoos and conditioners, Pattern’s newest and most highly-rated styling products are getting the hype they deserve: the Styling Cream ($25), Curl Gel ($25) and Hydrating Mist ($18) are all coming in hot with a solid five stars.

As if Ross didn’t keep us inspired enough during quarantine, it was only necessary for her to show up at the virtual awards with a pop of color. However, she wasn’t the only one bringing it: Michelle Obama’s defined curls and Beyonce’s sultry smoky eye were up there in terms of looks that truly stole the show.
