If you’ve sampled or purchased Tatcha’s Water Cream ($68)—which you probably have, considering it’s sold out at Sephora multiple times since its introduction earlier this year—you know that it’s a full-on experience for your skin; one so unique it’s seemingly impossible to replicate. So when I came across Make P:rem’s Micro Tension Cream ($30) from Target’s latest Glow Studio K-beauty lineup and realized how similar it was to Tatcha’s best-seller, looking like “a kid in a candy store” got a whole new meaning.

From the texture of the formula itself down to the same massive moisture it delivers to dehydrated skin, this option feels exactly the same as the pricier version, the only difference being the scent (if you’re one that tends to gravitate toward fragrance-free options, this one’s for you). As the name suggests, the cream looks dense in the pot, but, like Tatcha’s, it totally explodes with hydration once it hits your skin and delivers a cooling effect.

Brimming with brightening Arctic berries and Japanese botanicals—both brands harness Japanese inspiration, which may have something to do with the striking similarity—the water-gel cream deeply hydrates even the driest complexions with such a light-as-air finish, you’ll forget you applied anything at all. Plus, the Japanese botanicals also work to refine pores and boost radiance, which is always welcomed. Hitting at a whopping $38 less than the recent cult-classic, this is one product you definitely don’t want to forget to grab on your next Target run.
