As posted on the star’s Instagram via a morning makeup-free selfie, not every day needs a hair-and-makeup team: “Me waking up and counting how many white hairs and wrinkles have crashed the party this morning. Yo despertándome y contando cuantas arrugas y canas se colaron a la fiesta esta mañana,” she captioned.

For her 20 million–plus followers—including supermodel Cindy Crawford, who called the post “beautiful”—the real talk was very much appreciated.

Despite the gray hairs or wrinkles, as Hayek told us in a 2014 cover story, she keeps calm when it comes to beauty changes: “Our skin is moody, our hair is moody, we are moody,” she said. “Don’t be frustrated by it. Listen to it, look after it, but, when it’s not behaving how you want, be prepared for it to happen and don’t do anything too drastic. So many people make beauty decisions in a panic.”
