Meeting Paris Jackson sort of comes with an “a-ha” moment of doing some math in your head—at least for us older folks who spent the greater part of the 1980’s fixated to every album, every product and pretty much every move her father made.
But here she is on this sunny New York City day—tall, statuesque and, at 24, most definitely not a kid anymore.
This November, the multi-hyphenate will go on tour but, for tonight, she’s here to celebrate the launch of the Everlasting Hyperlight Liquid Lipstick by KVD Beauty ($22), a brand that counts her as the face of the campaign and co-creative director, as well as a long-time fan.
“It’s cruelty-free and the aesthetics really match mine,” she says, sharing two quick takeaways on why it’s one of her go-to lines. “KVD Beauty was one of the first lipsticks I ever owned. This is kind of a full-circle moment for me.”
The brand also thinks it’s a full-circle moment, coining the new long-lasting lip launch (it’s available today) an “evolution of an icon.” The new collection will replace the original formula with 21 “undetectably light,” feather-resistant matte shades that range from petal-soft neutrals to pops of bold pigment payoff, with more colors coming in the new year.
While Jackson is quick to say she’s not one for swaying with the trends, she does say she tends to always gravitate toward darker lip shades. “And I love Burt’s Bees lip balms—they are definitely a staple. I always take them when I go camping or I’m on the road. And anything with Irish sea moss is really great. That’s kind of my wellness ‘thing.’”
