Over the summer I wrote about how much I loved Nécessaire’s The Body Wash in Santal ($25). Its warm, sandalwood-infused scent lingered on my skin long after showering—so long I went much of the summer without a spritz of perfume. My only complaint? It wasn’t also a body lotion. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case. You may have already heard Nécessaire recently launched four scented body lotions to accompany its best-selling body washes (in addition to fragrance-free versions). I’m here to report that the scents don’t just smell good, they also last much longer than most of my favorite perfumes.
All of Nécessaire’s treatment lotions are made with niacinamide, peptides, vitamins C and E and omega-6 and 9. It’s a deeply moisturizing, firming and skin-strengthening formula that designated the fragrance-free version an instant fan-favorite. (Not to mention, all formulas are dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and EU compliant.) Now, the brand adds fine fragrance notes and essential oils. Whether you prefer Santal, Eucalyptus, Hinoki or Olibanum, the lotion absorbs quickly and each scent becomes like a second skin that doesn’t waver. My husband returned home from a trip one afternoon and commented on how good I smelled; I realized it was from the lotion I had slathered on the night before.
This is all to say, if you’re looking for a longer-lasting perfume, I highly recommend trying any of the Nécessaire’s scented body lotions first. (At $48 for a jumbo 15.2 oz tub, it’s a worthy investment that will last you awhile.) For more details about each scent, keep reading.
