Some people have white-noise machines to help them relax before bed—I have a video of Naomi Campbell applying her skincare.

Aside from the English supermodel’s soothing voice, she knows what she’s doing when it comes to beauty. Case in point: she’s the first-ever brand ambassador for the coveted makeup brand Pat McGrath Labs.

In Vogue’s latest Beauty Secrets video, Campbell gives us a front-row seat to her daily beauty routine. While the 50 year-old covers everything from contouring to brow shaping, we have some favorite chapters: microneedling, her custom skin-care serum and the ultimate concealer hack.

Under the Needle
The supermodel’s skin-care routine begins with a generous spritz of La Roche Posay Serozinc Toner ($15). “I always use Zinc,” she tells the camera before grabbing her trusty microneedling tool. “This one is from the doctor, so the needles are a little extra longer than the ones you can get [at the store], so I have to be a bit careful because they’re very sharp and extra long.”

Campbell rolls the tool around her face, making short, quick strokes everywhere. “It’s a little sensitive around the chin,” she notes. “I’m doing this because I want to put on a serum and I want it to go really into my skin.” Before finishing up, she offers up a handy tip for those of us at home: “Don’t go too close under the eyes with this.”

Serum Science
Immediately after microneedling, it’s serum time. “I like the skin to be shiny and dewy; I don’t like anything too matte and dry. I also think it ages you,” says Campbell.

Next, she combines a couple of products together to form her own supermodel-skin cocktail: vitamin E oil, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C powder. “I’ll mix in my hands and put it on my face and neck. We always forget about the neck and we mustn’t.” She also places the bespoke serum under the eyes, ensuring she’s applying all over the face with upward strokes. “Up, up, up.”

Concealer Games
Once her skin boasts that signature glow, Campbell goes right into her makeup routine, beginning with one of the best concealer hacks we’ve heard yet. “I use about three or four different colors on my skin because dark skin is that way—you can’t use one color all over,” she explains of the technique that allows skin to look natural, not fake. Her go-to concealer is Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Concealer ($32). “I go between 23, 24, 25 and 26—those are my shades.”

Campbell applies the lightest of the shades, 23, under her eyes, between her brows and on her chin. “The highlighting places,” she notes. Then, she layers a bit of shade 24 on top of each of those areas before blending them together. Shade 25 goes on the cheeks and the forehead, and 26 around the mouth.

Once the concealers are blended, it’s time to set with powder—but not too much: “I don’t like too much powder because I don’t like powder to look like a mask.” After applying a very light veil on top of the concealed areas, Campbell’s skin looks flawless—almost like she’s about to hit the catwalk.
