Megan Fox is among many celebrities basking in the sun at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA. But according to her makeup artist, Jenna Kristina, that’s not deterring the 37-year-old actress from protecting her skin from the sun’s intense rays with broad-spectrum a SPF product.
Kristina did Fox’s makeup for Coachella’s kickoff: the Celsius Cosmic Desert Event on Friday, April 12. Despite telling People that she “threw together” her ensemble for the event, Fox nailed the look. She complemented her long sky-blue hair and glam with a white scoop-neck Free People bodysuit and Levi’s denim shorts, adding a black leather jacket for an edgy touch. She accessorized with black over-the-knee boots and a cowboy hat.
And from what it sounds like, she pocketed sunscreen for the event. “Can’t send @MeganFox off to Coachella without good sunscreen like @ImageSkincare Daily Prevention Protect and Refresh Mist SPF 40 and eyeliner that lasts,” the makeup artist captioned an Instagram photo of Fox from the music festival. “Today I used @WestmoreBeauty Wing Effects Liquid Eyeliner.”
Spray sunscreen is an excellent choice for an outdoor event like Coachella, especially when wearing a full face of glam like Fox. The spray-on application is easy to reapply every two hours, which is how often the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends for effective protection.
The AAD also recommends using sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection (protects against both UVA and UVB rays), has an SPF of 30 or higher, and is water resistant. This Fox-approved formula checks all of those boxes. It also uses moisturizing glycerin, skin-brightening licorice root extract and antioxidant-rich green tea extract to level up the free radical protection.
But Fox’s Coachella look featured more than just sunscreen. For the festival, Kristina gave Fox a full face of glam, complementing her bright blue hair with makeup that accentuated her features, namely a matte complexion, well-groomed brows, her signature smokey eye and winged liner combo. While the makeup artist didn’t provide a full beauty breakdown, she did reveal that she used the Westmore Beauty Wing Effects Liquid Eyeliner for Fox’s cat eye. This product is known for its thin, marker-type tip and smooth application.
And finally, we can’t discuss Fox’s Coachella glam without mentioning her vibrant blue hair, worn down with a center part and styled in subtle waves for the music festival. When People caught up with her at the festival and inquired about the inspiration behind her festival hair, she revealed that her lengthy locks are actually extensions.
“I actually have a blue bob right now,” she told the outlet. “We added the extensions in to give it more Coachella energy. I think I bleached it, and I destroyed it. So I might as well run through all the colors before I go brown.”
The actress debuted her blue bob earlier this month, captioning an Instagram selfie sporting her new blue hair, “entering my Jedi era.”
