There’s nothing better than some next-level luminosity on any red carpet and no one delivered it quite like Kristin Wiig during last night’s Critics Choice Awards.

According to celeb makeup artist Jo Baker, who created the look, Kristen’s Rodarte lacy dress and piecey Pixie cut “was daring and a bold show of femininity,” to which she set out to pair a “sooty feline feeling…with fresh and gorgeous head-to-toe glowing skin.”

The first step: A little makeup custom-blending via a mix of Shiseido Foundation and Illuminating Body by about-face in Way Out West—a formula that Baker says gave “the perfect mix of coverage, but with a radiant and red carpet–worthy glow finish.” She also used the concoction all-over the body with a “dab” on the cheeks.

For the eyes, Baker wanted to create “to create a soft, flattering lived-in texture for the lids,” with the key move involving smudging Matte Shadowstick in Kill The Lights by about-face on her hand and using a smudge blender brush, then working a tiny bit into the lash line and across the outer crease to create a soft, smudgy smoke base. She finished off the look with Sisley So Curl Mascara in black.

“It’s amazing how many different ways you can use a great black eye crayon as a liner,” she says. “These two different ways really built a simple, but modern way to create a winged tip look keeping the smudged smokey element.”

The final lip step: More mixing with about-face’s Lip Fix Pencil in Pink In The morning by About Face, plus a dab of Light Lock Lip Gloss (clear) Not all at Once for hydration and sheen.
