Thanks to the deceptive nature of social media, it’s easy to look at our favorite celebrities and see no flaws at all, making it hard to picture them being insecure about anything at all. One such celebrity that seems to defy to hands of time is Kelly Ripa. At 53 years old, the talk show host looks as fit, radiant and youthful as ever, so it’s hard to picture her down about herself in any realm.
But, no matter your level of fame and prestige, it’s almost impossible to age in the spotlight without some level of insecurity. In a candid interview with star Demi Moore, Ripa got real on her podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” opening up about her struggle with loose skin as she’s gotten older.

While there’s no simple fix for beating our insecurities, hearing from our favorite celebrities about struggles they face that mirror ours always provides a bit of comfort. While chatting with 61-year-old Moore about her struggles with skin and gravity in her 60s, Ripa admitted that she too has a hard time with the state of her skin. “I try never to turn around and look in the mirror—ever—if I’m naked,” Ripa revealed, “I’m like, ‘Is that a dunked teabag?’”
While Ripa’s comments were humorous and relatable, Moore responded with what we were all thinking: “Your body is ridiculous,” to which Ripa countered, “You haven’t seen it naked.”
While Ripa admitted she can get bogged down in the signs of aging, she is still hopeful about her ability to age gracefully. “Women in their 50s and 60s and 70s are now keeping themselves—thanks to diet, exercise, fitness routines, modern medicine—women are much younger, they look younger, they feel younger, they have the vitality of a much younger person,” she said.
