The glorious Iman is this week’s PEOPLE’s cover star and, while the supermodel is opening up about her “epic romance” with David Bowie, she’s also delivering some serious skin-care secrets.

“I’ve put on 8 pounds during COVID, and it’s an instant filler,” the 66-year-old shares. “It completely softened my face.”

“People keep wanting to be extremely skinny with no body fat. As you get older that shows in your face and hands. You lose the collagen. People run to get fillers and stuff like that. I’m intending to keep the 8 pounds. Somebody once said it’s either the face or the ass, and I’m going with the face. Just because you are over 50 and you put on five pounds, dear Lord, let’s not stress over that!”

Something else Iman refuses to stress: aging (although she does say she swears by the SK-II sheet masks). “In Africa, we are taught that it’s a privilege to get old. I have never lied about my age. Plastic surgery — I’m not against it, but it’s not for me,” Iman told PEOPLE.

“But on Zoom, get yourself good lighting!”
