Tonight’s 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards did not disappoint when it came to glamour. And of course, at a time when lip products are hotter than ever, many celebs opted for tinted lip balm over traditional lipstick. Three A-listers, specifically, wore CHANEL Rouge Coco Baume Shine ($45), a hydrating tinted lip balm that comes in six shades. The color is super buildable, so you can wear it sheer or bold depending on the look you want.
Keira Knightley
Nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama for her role in Black Doves, Keira Knightley wore the tinted lip balm in the shade Honey Bliss. “Keira wore a black, shiny CHANEL gown,” says celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee. “To complement the gown, I went with an early 90’s smudged eye, a tactile complexion and a barely there lip.”
Quinta Brunson
Nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her role in Abbott Elementary, Quinta Brunson also stunned in CHANEL’s Rouge Coco Baume Shine. Her makeup artist, Kasha Lassien, chose the shade Honey Bliss. “The beading on the gown reflected the light so beautifully, so I wanted to mirror that in the makeup. I allowed the makeup to catch the light in the same way that the beading did, which overall enhanced the elegance of the gown.”
Tilda Swinton
Tilda Swinton wore CHANEL Rouge Coco Baume Shine in the shade Blushing Pink. “For Tilda’s makeup look, I was inspired by fresh, pink tones that were reminiscent of springtime,” says celebrity makeup artist Roz Music. Swinton is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in The Room Next Door.
Margaret Qualley
CHANEL Rouge Coco Baume also comes in a satin version. Celebrity makeup artist Tyron Machhausen used it tonight on Margaret Qualley, nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her part in The Substance. He used the shade Cocoon. “Margaret’s stunning, crisp CHANEL Couture gown was goddess-like and statuesque, but still had an ethereal lightness to it,” he says. “I wanted that mood to be reflected in the makeup look as well. [It] was all about the complexion. I wanted it to feel hyper-real, radiant and polished. The makeup itself was rather minimalist with soft, shimmery accents for the eyes and cheeks. [It was] an overall lit-from-within glow, like a Pre-Raphaelite painting coming to life!”
