Glenn Close wants you to know that some things become inevitable as you get older—like growing facial hair. The actress shared a surprisingly candid video to her Instagram feed this week in which she opened up about her “face fuzz” and why no one should be ashamed of having it.
“I’ll tell you something,” she said. “First of all, these are my wonderful Erdem pajamas, but I’m sitting here being backlit by the beautiful Montana sun, checking out my face fuzz. Now everybody has face fuzz, right? Of course, nobody wants to have the random hair sticking out. Everybody has those as well. If we’re really honest about it, it’s part of being human. Peach fuzz and a little chin hair, part of getting old. Oh no!”
She’s right: Finding peach fuzz and pesky, unwanted hairs on your face is pretty normal, and she’s certainly not the first celebrity to open up about it. Meghan Trainor, for example, once spoke to Kelly Clarkson about being “fuzzy wuzzy” and talked about using a dermaplaning tool to get rid of her peach fuzz. Florence Pugh also recently shared an Instagram story about a few chin hairs hiding on her face.
The good news is that there are a bunch of ways (including dermaplaning) to remove unwanted hair from your face, should you choose to do so. But just remember: it’s nothing to feel ashamed of.
