Hello, deep side part! We are here for the iconic Christina Applegate's Emmy look tonight, and now we have some insight on all the hair details.

Applegate—who was nominated for lead actress in a comedy series for her role on Netflix's Dead to Me—made an emotional appearance at the show, coupled with a standing ovation by her peers.

According to celeb hairstylist and Virtue creative director Adir Abergel, the inspiration for the look was Applegate's custom-made Christian Siriano velvet suit.

To that end, Abergel wanted a "sleek and shiny Veronica Lake–inspired hair moment to compliment the look" and opted for a "deep-side part, high-shine blowout with the slightest wave and volume focused at her hairline and ends."

First up, Abergel applied Virtue’s Volumizing Primer ($40) at the root, adding movement with a round brush and a blow-dryer on a low heat. He then curled and set her hair with a large-barrel curling iron.

Once Applegate's hair cooled, Abergel sculpted the hair by softly back brushing each curl. He then brushed the curls together and shaped her hair with Virtue’s lightweight Texturizing Spray ($40).

To finish the look, Abergel added high-shine with Virtue’s Healing Oil ($45).
